Tanzania's Hidden Gem

Tarangire National Park is one of Tanzania's most rewarding safari destinations and is widely known for its enormous elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, and diverse wildlife. Located in northern Tanzania, approximately two hours from Arusha, Tarangire forms an important part of the country's famous Northern Safari Circuit.

Covering nearly 2,850 square kilometres, the park offers a unique safari experience that combines excellent wildlife viewing with fewer crowds than some of Tanzania's more famous parks. Why Visit Tarangire National Park

A Unique Safari Experience

Tarangire is often called Tanzania's hidden gem. While Serengeti and Ngorongoro attract most visitors, many travellers leave Tarangire pleasantly surprised by the abundance of wildlife and stunning scenery.

The park is particularly famous for its elephant population, with herds often numbering over 100 individuals. Visitors can also encounter lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, and numerous antelope species.

Tarangire's giant baobab trees create a distinctive landscape unlike any other park in East Africa.

  • Elephant Paradise Lake Manyara is one of the few places in Africa where lions are regularly observed resting in trees, making it a unique safari destination. This unusual behaviour is rarely seen elsewhere on the continent.
  • Iconic Baobabs Tarangire's giant baobab trees create a distinctive landscape unlike any other park in East Africa. These ancient trees add a magical quality to the safari experience and provide excellent photo opportunities.
  • Fewer Crowds Enjoy a more intimate safari experience with fewer vehicles and visitors compared to Tanzania's more famous parks. This allows for a more peaceful and exclusive wildlife viewing experience.
