Location

Central Serengeti, Serengeti National Park

Nimali Serengeti enjoys a spectacular position close to Makoma Hill in Central Serengeti, overlooking open savannah and dramatic granite kopjes.

Central Serengeti is one of the most wildlife-rich areas of the entire national park. Permanent water sources and plentiful prey support large populations of resident wildlife throughout the year, making the region particularly famous for its predators. Lions are frequently encountered around the rocky kopjes and open plains, while leopards and cheetahs are also regularly seen.

The area also forms part of the annual Great Wildebeest Migration route. Depending on rainfall and herd movements, large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra can move through this part of the Serengeti, particularly from April to June and again from October to December.

Nimali Serengeti is approximately 40 minutes by road from Seronera Airstrip, making it convenient for guests flying into the Serengeti. By road, Naabi Hill Gate is around two hours away, while the Ngorongoro Crater main gate is approximately four hours from the lodge.

Its central position makes Nimali Serengeti an excellent choice both as a standalone Serengeti stay and as part of a longer Northern Tanzania safari combining Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the Northern Serengeti.
